Rayisa Mgrdichian Born in Sevan region in Armenia. Alongside academical studies, Rayisa graduated from a 7-year music school in 1959. She also graduated from Romanos Melikyan and Gomitas convservatories in 1963 and 1968 respectively as a pianist. In 1968 "Youth" radio station in Moscow granted Rayisa the best female pop artist title upon her song "Ko Atcheri Hed". On the same year, she participated in the Armenian song contest and won the gold medal.
